Answers:

1. What kind of conditions do you treat at your clinic?
I treat all medical conditions in men and women. I specialise in treating thyroid disorders, chronic fatigue, postviral fatigue, Irritable bowel syndrome , Digestive disorders, coeliac disease, hormonal imbalances, especially Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Infertility and Menopause, metabolic disorders such as high cholesterol, hypertension, insulin resistance and overweight.

I use specialised detoxification programmes integrating nutritional, homotoxicological and herbal supplements to support liver, gut , kidney and lymphatic function. This is useful in treating overweight, cellulite, fatigue, arthritis and headaches as well as autoimmune disorders.

I treat musculoskeletal conditions such as sports injuries, arthritis, postoperative conditions and chronic pain.

I treat skin conditions especially Acne, Scarring, lines and wrinkles and facial rejuvenation.

I treat Autoimmune disorders such as SLE, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and Rheumatoid arthritis.

2. What is Homotoxiology?
It is a system of using dilute anti- toxic remedies to support the body’s defense mechanisms and to eliminate toxins . It is the link between Western Allopathic medicine and Homoeopathy. Dr Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg formulated Homotoxicology in 1952 as a system of overcoming the toxic states that predispose to illness.

3. What type of Acupuncture treatments are performed at your clinic?
I use disposable, very thin, sterilised acupuncture needles for traditional acupuncture. The treatment is relatively painless and once the needles are in place, gentle stimulation causes a heavy sensation or a feeling of a light electrical charge flowing through the area.

I use low level laser therapy for needle – free acupuncture where a non-heating red or infrared light is applied to the acupuncture point to stimulate the point. This is effective in people who avoid needles and in younger patients.

I use Biomesotherapy for enhanced results in acupuncture and for specific conditions.

4. What is Biomesotherapy?
Biomesotherapy is the use of homotoxicology ( dilute remedies) which are injected into the acupuncture points using a bd injector which ensures that the injection is as painless as possible. It is very useful in conditions of acute and chronic paiin, arthritis ,low energy and fatigue, immune stimulation and treatment of infections.

5. What is Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy?
This is a noninvasive system of treatment developed by Dr Carolyn McMakin to treat myofascial pain,neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia using specific microcurrent frequencies (microamps). No needles are used and the treatment is not at all painful.

6. What is Electroridopuncture?
Electroridopuncture is a cosmetic technique devised by Dr Philippe Simonin of Geneva whereby thin,, sterile needles are introduced into scars or lines and wrinkles and a small micro- current is applied. The body’s repair response then stimulates collagen repair to the treated area, diminishing acne scars, lines and wrinkles.

7. What is Low-Level Laser Therapy?
Low level laser therapy is the use of non-heating red and infrared laser light to treat acupuncture points, skin inflammation and joint and muscle pain.

8. What is VPL?
VPL stand for Variable Pulsed Light treatments using 2 narrow bands of wavelengths, the 530nm light for facial rejuvenation, collagen stimulation, facial telangiectasia, pigment and acne and the 610 nm for hair removal. All patients are patch tested and treated only by the doctor.

9. What is Iontophoresis?
It is the use of microamps of Galvanic current to increase the penetration of an ionised gel into the skin. Patented gels are used to slow the Aging process by blocking the Arnox enzyme in the skin which produces free radical damage and aging. Vitamin C and A are also used in this way to improve cell turnover, stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin. There is no discomfort and the treatment is safe and has been used in Medicine for hundreds of years to treat hyperhidrosis and for topical absorption of drugs through the skin.

10. What are Facial Peels?
We use safe medical skin peels to treat Acne, for facial rejuvenation and for treating pigmentation. The peels are applied by the doctor and are suitable for all skin types.

11. What is a Haemaview test?
This is a live blood examination where a small finger prick sample of blood is placed on a slide and viewed under a high – powered Dark Field microscope to view the cell membranes, cell nuclei, platelets and fat content to assess the qualitative health of the cells and to guide further investigation to assist the patient’s diagnosis and treatment regime. It is a visible tool to monitor treatment effectiveness and cellular recovery.

12. What happens in the Consultation process?
Prior to the initial consultation , an exhaustive questionnaire is presented to the patient to cover areas of the body and health that they may not have considered. The first consultation is a long consultation and may take up to an hour where a full history of the illness, the lifestyle, past illnesses, medication and nutritional supplementation history, social, emotional and genetic history, dietary history and previous investigations are assessed. A physical examination including Traditional Chinese Medicine Tongue and Pulse diagnosis is performed. A Haemaview test may be performed and further orthodox laboratory investigations may be requested. The Nutritional plan and treatment strategy is outlined and the patient leaves with a folder containing full instructions and recipes to begin the journey of healing.

13. How is this different from other Medical clinics?
