Beat Your Hormonal Blocks To Losing Weight!
Have you tried many diets, consulted many dieticians and diligently exercised according to your personal trainers proven plan, only to be frustrated by minimal fat loss when your friends and associates seem to lose weight effortlessly and quickly?
Have you spent money on cellulite treatments, machine electro - exercise pads, sweat suits, seaweed wraps, saunas and other guaranteed systems which work for others, but not for you? How about the magical "natural" remedies like hoodia, chromium, seaweed extracts, hydroxycitric acids and thermogenic aids that don't fulfill their promise? High protein , high fat diets that pile on the cellulite and make you feel tired, unwell and in fact, cause you to lose muscle and have smelly breath?I have personally experienced the frustration of sluggish fat loss and a lot of wasted time and money over the years, until I finally found my own personal answer and the answers for many others who have struggled as I once did.

Some hormonal and nutritional obstacles to losing weight include the following:
- Insulin resistance and Polycystic ovarian syndrome or type 2 diabetes
- Perimenopausal and menopausal imbalances in oestrogen and progesterone
- Iodine deficiency, Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's thyroiditis
- Prolongued stress and increased cortisol levels
- Vitamin D deficiency
- Constipation, Gut dysbiosis /leaky gut, endogenous and exogenous toxicity
- Deficient hepatic detoxification enzymes
Some of these tests include fasting insulin, glucose and cortisol levels., 24 hour cortisol levels, oestrogen : progesterone ratios plus the ratios of oestrogen metabolites in the urine, testosterone levels and androstenedione levels, ultrasounds for thyroid disease and polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid antibody levels and reverse T3 levels. There are subtle tests for liver detoxification profiles (unlike the usual biochemistry liver enzyme profiles) and there are basic nutritional profiles which are simple to test for.
Once your pattern is recognised, there are natural dietary techniques and natural supplements that target the specific problem.
For example, insulin resistance responds to the herb, purslane, the cactus neopuntia and a concentrated green tea supplement called Tegreen which is thermogenic, antioxidant and antiinflammatory as well as having anti- cancer properties. Regular exercise, avoidance of dairy products, processed flours and sugars and alcohol are an essential part of the programme to control insulin resistance.
Prolonged adrenal stress in practice may respond to a supplement called Cortitrol which contains the herb Epimedium, phosphatidyl serine and theanine which is also derived from green tea and has calming properties. Homoepathic remedies for adrenal stress have also proved useful in practice.
Oestrogen dominance responds to a gut and liver detoxification regime and supplements containing flax lignans, indole 3 carbinol, broccoli sprouts, resveratrol, red clover and curcumin which direct oestrogen metabolism towards the safer metabolites.
Regular, effective exercise and avoidance of dairy products plus the above treatment for insulin resistance is helpful in treating polycystic ovarian syndrome. Teenage binge drinking is also a contributing cause.
Sleep deficiency upsets the Leptin balance and can cause weight gain.
