ACUPUNCTURE
Dr Marilyn Golden topped the state in the Medical Acupuncture Fellowship Examination – achieving a mark of 90.5% in 2006.
Acupuncture is a valuable treatment for multiple problems, including painful musculoskeletal conditions, hormonal conditions, gastrointestinal conditions, skin conditions, constitutional treatments and for general wellbeing, insomnia and anxiety. Acupuncture is a proven therapeutic modality backed by medical research.
FACIAL REJUVENATION ACUPUNCTURE
Dr Marilyn Golden has trained under Dr Virginia Doran and was certified to practice facial rejuvenation acupuncture in March 2006. This involves lifting facial and eye muscles, improving circulation to the face and improving facial muscle tone. The patient receives a full body constitutional treatment and low level laser therapy within the same treatment. A course of 12 treatments is recommended. Eye rejuvenation acupuncture may be done separately from total facial rejuvenation treatments.
BIOMESOTHERAPY
Biomesotherapy is a German acupuncture treatment involving injection of homoeopathic remedies into certain acupuncture points. It is specific for painful musculoskeletal conditions such as knee pain, back pain and elbow pain. Biomesotherapy stimulates your body’s own healing capacity. Biomesotherapy assists in detoxification and normalising an imbalanced system. Over 70 million biomesotherapy treatments take place in Europe each year.
LOW LEVEL LASER THERAPY
Low level laser therapy uses red and infrared light which is non-thermal, does not burn or heat and is very useful when combined with acupuncture for painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr Marilyn Golden is a qualified laser therapist and she uses low level laser therapy for many different inflammatory skin conditions such as acne (her specialty), eczema, wounds, scarring, postsurgery healing, nail conditions, non-needle acupuncture, mastitis (postpartum) and lymphoedema. Low level laser therapy is also useful for treating pain.
SMOKING CESSATION and WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAMMES
Acupuncture, low level laser therapy, nutrition and homoeopathy plus detoxification programmes are combined in treating cravings associated with cessation of smoking and fat loss programmes. We also have an infrared detoxification sauna in the clinic to facilitate detoxification and specialised herbal and homoeopathic detoxification remedies. A full nutrition programme with recipes is included.
ANTIAGING SKIN TREATMENTS
Our clinic uses Medical strength cosmeceutical products based on retinol, vitamins, antioxidants, fruit and essential oils including non-traumatic peels to stimulate healthy change in the skin and to create a beautiful renewed complexion. We combine these products where needed with low level laser therapy, facial rejuvenation acupuncture and Variable Pulsed Light therapy for photo-rejuvenation, collagen stimulation, wrinkle reduction and acne and rosacea treatments. VPL is also extremely effective at reduction of body and facial hair and there is no need to use local anaesthetic creams. There is usually no downtime with these treatments. Soft diamond peel micro-dermabrasion is another gentle treatment to support exfoliation and renewed complexions.
Our skin treatments include nutritional, homoeopathic and herbal supportive treatments and may include acupuncture. We treat the skin both inside and out, facilitating healing of the whole body. CLINICAL NUTRITION
Dr Marilyn Golden has a Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and she is completing the Graduate Diploma in Nutrition Medicine. Nutrition is the foundation of all her treatments. She has innovative recipes which are always evolving and patients are given tools and encouragement to support lifestyle changes. Natural treatment of high cholesterol, gynaecological disorders, inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatic diseases are her special interest.

HOMOEOPATHY and HOMOTOXICOLOGY
Dr Marilyn Golden has a Diploma in Homoeopathy and uses Homotoxicology which is a sophisticated form of homoeopathy to re-establish regulation of the body’s functions. This includes deep detoxification, reducing inflammation and improving cellular metabolism. There are no harmful side effects, the remedies are not habit forming, can be used with conventional orthodox medical treatments and they are safe to use in pregnancy and while breast feeding.
HERBAL MEDICINE
Dr Marilyn Golden has a Diploma of Phytotherapy (Western Herbal Medicine) and herbal remedies are useful adjuncts to holistic treatment, where the whole plant with all its active constituents is used to rebalance dysfunction in the body.
CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE
Dr Marilyn Golden has a Postgraduate Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine is her first love and passion, thanks to her late mentor, Dr Peter Townsend, who was a leader in bringing Chinese Herbal Medicine to Australia. Traditional Chinese Medicine also focuses on diagnosing patterns of imbalance in the body and rectifying these with Chinese herbal medicine and Acupuncture plus special Chinese exercises called Qigong. Marilyn has been practising Qigong for many years and still studies under a Qigong master every week. Patients may be prescribed healing Qigong exercises for various medical conditions.
FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT TREATMENT
Dr Marilyn Golden has completed advanced training in Frequency Specific Microcurrent Treatment and is a certified practitioner. FSM is the use of microamps of current for painful musculoskeletal conditions and especially for fibromyalgia. Many other conditions have responded to the use of frequency specific microcurrent in our clinic.
LIVE BLOOD ANALYSIS (HAEMAVIEW)
We use this tool at our clinic to view and follow up cellular changes in the blood from initial diagnosis to post-treatment changes. It is an instant and valuable assessment of the efficacy of our treatments.
